Fog drifted silently through the bamboo and reeds in the still waters. The sun would soon burn it away, but for now the air was wet and heavy. Cold stillness was accompanied with a strange stillness. One that whispered it would be at an end at any moment. As the breath danced from a Men-yori a silent figure advanced cautiously with fixed gaze analyzing everything in the landscape hidden in fog. All focus and senses searching and anticipating sharply for any movement. The stoic hunter alert that at the first sign of his "reflection," (another like him searching just as sharply for signs of him) there would be an explosion of sound and fury. Once this inevitability occurred, he knew the two warriors would clash in ferocious battle to the death, the sound activating the all the others. He was the doorway in which his allegiance and enemy would converge. This, an intrinsic knowing... the reality in the mind of the Shogun.

Inspiration: Desire to create an interpretation of Asian culture from studies, stories, and art. To explore my own imagination through perceptions and observations of the world of samurai and fascination of what the world looks like through the eyes of another.
