As she stooped by the rivers edge, Isabelle looked across the surface as the breeze intensified to a gust. The forest had come alive, and strange light began to dance through the trees. Rhythms in the water seemed to swim towards the center or the river and manifest a magical pattern, pooling but not yet clear. Her eyes then widened. It rose in a column of water but stole the colors from the forest behind. Greens and reds began to swirl as it grew to enormous proportions. All at once this marvelous illusion twisted and revealed a vivid sight. The twisting water finished changing as the head of a grand serpent fixed its gaze upon her. Hair raised on her neck and skin covered in chills, Isabelle frozen in awe knew she was in the midst of legend her ancestors told of. Filling the sky with radiant color and serenely gazing upon her... the River Guardian.

Inspiration: Moving Art on Netflix television moved me to paint and select my colors. As I worked and experimented with techniques I practiced, I paused to admire and consider. Unaware at first but excited to share, I showed my partner. Abruptly he begged me to freeze and consider. And then I saw it. Clear and dramatic a serpent coming out of a river.
